1903 |
A meeting of 13 Brethren interested in forming a Lodge under the Scottish Constitution was held at Midland Junction on 26th November. Bro. Dr. J.E. Ferguson Stewart was elected Chairman at the meeting with W. Bro. E. Casper, District Grand Secretary, representing the Grand Lodge of Scotland. A proposal in favour forming a Lodge under the Scottish Constitution was unanimous agreed and on the motion of Bros.G. Eades and S.J. Richards, Midland Junction was the name to be adopted. A fee for foundation members of 2 (two) guineas was collected. |
| 1904 | Lodge Midland Junction No.972 S.C. was consecrated
in the hall of the Freemasons Hotel Midland Junction (now known as the
Junction Hotel) on Wednesday 24th February,1904 by R.W. Bro. J.M.Y. Ferguson
Stewart assisted by District Grand Lodge Office-bearers. A Charter was issued to Lodge Midland Junction No. 972 S.C. under the Seal of The Grand Lodge of Scotland dated 5th May,1904. At the first half-yearly visit of the District Grand Master in July, the Charter was presented to the Lodge. The Register of Members records that at the first initiation ceremony carried out by the Lodge on 2nd March, no less than five Brethren took the first step that day, namely Bros. Henry H. Walkerden,Edward A.P.Timms, Martin Culleton, Peter Walkerden and John W. Burgess. At the next regular meeting on 5th April, another Walkerden, Harold H., was initiated. |
| 1905 | Earliest known photograph existing of Office-bearers and brethren of the Lodge dated 05/06 displayed in the foyer of the Temple, in The Avenue, Midland. The RWM at that time was Bro. W. Brown. This Photograph was taken in front of the doors of the fitting shop of The Midland Railway Company workshops some 100 metres West of the Freemasons Hotel (Centre Point Shopping Centre is now on the original workshops site). The photograph would have been taken between September, 1905 and March, 1906 as Bro. W. McDougall, initiated in August1905, is in the picture as one of the members. |
| 1913 | Meeting of Lodge Midland Junction on the 1st October, was last held in the Hall of the Freemasons Hotel, Midland Junction, being opened and closed by 6-15pm and then adjourned to the new Hall in Padbury Terrace, Midland Junction, which was our ‘home’for some 84 years. The District Grand Master, accompanied by his District Grand Lodge officers thereby consecrated and dedicated the Hall for use by the brethren of Lodge Midland Junction, Number 972 S.C. |
| 1978 | Lodge honored by Bro. F.A. Sweeney being elected in October,1977 as District Grand Master and subsequently installed by The Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason at a special Communication on Thursday 2nd March, 1978 for a five year term of office which was subsequently followed by a second five year term. |

Padbury Terrace Midland in February. First meeting of Lodge Midland Junction held in the Masonic Temple, The Avenue, Midland in March. |
| 2004 | Centenary meeting of Lodge Midland Junction Number 972 S.C. held on 3rd March. The Right Worshipful District Grand Master, Bro A.J.(Jim) Marlow, Honorary Junior Grand Warden, representing The Most Worshipful Grand Master Mason, performed the Ceremony of Rededication. |
